• Event entry is by Koha (donation). Proceeds to go to local charity. Payment either into bank account 'Whiskey Creek' 03 1791 0179215 06 (First Name and Surname in Particulars and Reference Fields) or cash on the day
  • Runners may enter as individuals or as part of a team of up to four members (i.e. 2, 3, or 4 people) in any of the event durations: 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours. Teams can be of any gender mix, and members may choose to run relay-style, together, or separately—whatever suits them best. • Make this a family outing and camp out there for the weekend! Anyone setting up a tent/gazebo for overnight use need to pay $11.50 per adult and $2.30 per school age child (children under 5 free) to Gore District Council. Click here to make overnight booking and payment. Set up must be done before the event starts at 12pm Saturday
  • Where we say runners, this means people who will just run AND people who will just walk AND everyone else (those who will walk and run)!
  • Runners need to register and have their gear checked at least 30 minutes before their event starts at the Event HQ/Registration Tent, Dolamore Park and collect their bib and attend a race briefing 15minutes before the start of their event at the same place.
  • Required gear: All runners must have shoes with good tread, a good jacket, thermal top and longs, their own snacks, gels, energy bar and nutrition etc, water bottles/bladders. All runners on course between the hours of 6:30pm Saturday and 7am Sunday will need to use a good headlamp and have a backup headlamp or batteries on them.
  • Optional gear (but recommended): Small day pack/running pack, warm gloves and bennie, first aid kit (plasters, tape, sunscreen)
  • Runners do not have to carry all their gear with them as they will be doing loops back to Dolamore Park but need to assess conditions each lap and take gear needed before heading back out.
  • The Whiskey Creek Trail is muddy and slippery in places, with rocks and roots across the track. Rain before or during the event will make conditions more slippery so care needs to be taken. The course will be marked with pink ribbon and signs. Once you have done a couple of laps we hope you get the idea!!
  • Please look out for other runners and assist them if needed
  • First aid will be available back at Dolamore Park
  • There are 2 short sections of road at Dolamore Park and the end of Domain Road that runners will cross or run along a short distance. It is the runner's responsibility to watch out for vehicles and give way when necessary
  • Whiskey Creek Track is a public track and other members of the public may be using tracks out there, watch out for them and greet them on the way past!
  • Runners are to make sure they wear the appropriate footwear (which is to be clean on arrival so as not to introduce weeds or myrtle rust into the Reserve), clothing and bring their own food and hydration of choice, though there will be an aid Station beyond the timing tent at Dolamore Park with water, some electrolytes and food. There will also be food and coffee available for purchase for runners and supporters at Dolamore Park
  • Runners are to avoid earbud use or headphones that cover the ears during the race. If you want to listen to music (especially at night) use bone conducting head phones that sit outside the ears so you can still hear what’s going on. There’s lots of native birdsong to enjoy, other runners to talk with and you need to be able to hear other runners coming up behind you that may want to pass
  • We are using electronic timing and each runner will have a bib with a timing chip on it. This must be worn at all times and at the completion of each lap, runners must make sure they pass over the timing mat which will be in the timing tent on the trail through Dolamore Park for that lap to count. Runners may then carry on or go to their supporters or aid station. When they start their next lap DO NOT cross over the timing mat again but carry on, back onto the trail from where you are, beyond the timing mat are as the timing is continuous until the event is finished. If you are aiming for a fast lap don't stop!
